Caragh Lake Loop

This is a super local cycle not for the faint hearted – though you can adjust the route to reduce the elevations in places and return the same way. A fantastic route with scenery that will take your breath away.

Take a left when leaving The Glenbeigh Hotel towards Caragh Bridge taking the right over the bridge – being careful as this road can be busy in the summer months. Follow on this road taking the next right turn which will lead you onto quieter roads to the lake. On route you may like to stop at the little road side market that pops up in the summer months with a beautiful photo opportunity of the valley with Caragh River in the backdrop. Take a dip at Caragh Lake Swim Pier as you cycle this route, stop off at the beautiful Blackstones Bridge with picnic spots or take a stroll in Licheen Woods.

Taking in some fabulous views over the lake and valley before ascending Treanmaneagh Climb which will bring you up to one of the best views down across the lake and is well worth the pain! Before descending down the hill and taking a left to come back in to Glenbeigh Village.
